ED is KD?

 An Enforcement Directorate officer was arrested after he was caught taking a bribe of 20 lakhs -  from a government employee in Dindigul, Tamilnadu. .He was arrested by the State Vigilance and Anti Corruption department. 

The officer Ankit Tiwari, has been sent to judicial custody till December 15.

1974 agreement is invalid

Chief Minister Jayalalitha said, the State assembly had unanimously passed a resolution on May 3, stating that in view of the legal invalidity of the 1974 and 1976 agreements, the federation of Indian States, must take steps, to retrieve Katchateevu and surrounding areas.

  "After retrieval, the International Maritime Boundary Line has to be redrawn, which will enable our fishermen to carry on fishing in their traditional fishing waters, without concerns of safety and security", she said. 

Jayalitha enclosed a copy of the assembly resolution, in her communication to Prime Minister Singh. 

The State assembly resolution had sought the retrieval of the islet, on the basis of the 1960 Berubari case.

Thawwai

A relief sculpture of a goddess called Thawwai has ben discovered in Chellappanendhal, near Tiruppachethi, Sivaganga district. 

It belongs to the early Pandian period and worshipped by Tamils between 6th century common era to 10 the century common era. 

The seated goddess is flanked by children, Maanthan and Maanthi in a stone panel that measures 2 feet by three feet.  

Thawwai carries a flower in her right hand, her left hand rests on her thigh. Her son sits at her right, her daughter to her left.
